Annual Events

Annual Meeting-An upscale banquet where we kick off the new year, celebrate Chamber and member accomplishments and install the newest Chairman of the Chamber board. This is our largest event of the year. 

The Sybil Leamon Volunteer Awards News Conference- An awards presentation that honors our Ambassador of the Year, Board Member of the Year, and The Sybil Leamon Volunteer of the Year. 

Achievement in Business Luncheon- A luncheon celebrating the Glasgow and Barren County business community. Our Small Business Person of the Year and Magnolia recipient serve as keynote speakers for this event. Other awards presented are the Small Business of the Year, Farmer of the Year, and Administrative Professional of the Year.

Chamber Classic Golf Scramble-This annual tournament is full of networking, camaraderie, and fun! The tournament is a shot gun start with several prizes offered for players. Breakfast, Lunch, and beverages are provided. 

Chamber Business Expo- Our Business Expo is a day packed with professional development opportunities, B2B networking, and the opportunity for local businesses to showcase their products and services to the South Central Kentucky community. The Expo kicks off with a keynote address then transitions into a networking period for participating businesses. 

Industry Impact Awards- At this banquet, the Chamber recognizes businesses and industry leaders in our area who have more than 50% of their market outside of Kentucky, bringing new dollars into our community. During the event, awards are given out and prominent leaders and executives attend along with their guests.

Industry Appreciation Golf Scramble- At this tournament we show our appreciation to our local industry leaders. The tournament is open for all to participate and provides players the opportunity to play along side top industry leaders.

Networking Events

Chamber Lunch Club- A quarterly networking event hosted at local Chamber member restaurants. Attendees are encouraged to speed network and make business connections at this event. 

Coffee & Commerce- A quarterly gathering where our members can enjoy a catered breakfast, Chamber and community announcements, door prizes, and hear from a keynote speaker. This is typically our largest networking event.

Professional Development Events

B2B Best Practices- A quarterly webinar that is hosted via Zoom. The webinar features a panel of local industry experts that provide tips and tricks for better business practices. Topics may include marketing and social media best practices, HR best practices, networking best practices, and Grow with Google small business webinars.

Chamber 101-A quarterly training session hosted at the BARREN INC. office. The training will cover the basics of Chamber membership and how to get involved and take advantage of member benefits.

Chamber Programs

Lead Forward- This is an annual leadership class that is designed to develop leadership skills of present and future leaders serving Glasgow and Barren County. Each year 20 participants are selected to participate following an application and interview process. The program features two retreats, 7 day sessions that highlight our local business sectors, and a class project. Upon completion of the program, participants will earn a graduation certificate. 

Leaders of the Future- Our Leaders of the Future program is patterned after our Lead Forward program and is tailored for aspiring young leaders in our community. This program is open to ninth grade students from Barren County, Caverna and Glasgow Independent school systems and is offered at no cost to students, families or the school systems. The goal of Leaders of the Future is to nurture an appreciation of the community and showcase the opportunities in our region.
